2NDHND is seeking an experienced general manager to join the team to support the growth of the business, to lead the management of the company to free up the time for the managing director to concentrate on leading business through the next stages of the company’s development.

Job Description – General Manager

This is a key role within 2NDHND. Based in Ayrshire and working closely with the Managing Director, the General Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of the business, developing and motivating the staff, managing customer relationships and seeking to constantly improve the efficiency and financial results of the business.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Overseeing daily business operations.
  • Developing and implementing growth strategies.
  • Training and motivating managers and staff.
  • Creating and managing budgets.
  • Improving revenue and overall business performance.
  • Hiring employees.
  • Evaluating performance and productivity.
  • Analyzing business and financial data.
  • Researching and identifying growth and efficiency opportunities.
  • Generating reports and update directors and shareholders on performance.

Skills and Capabilities

  • Degree in Business Management or qualified by experience
  • Knowledge of the interiors, FM, moves or furniture market.
  • Good knowledge of different business functions.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organized with good attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate with an understanding of web-based business models

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £35,000.00 to £45,000.00 /year

2NDHND is seeking an experienced and dynamic sales assistant to join the team to support the growth of the business. The sales assistant will be responsible for answering online and telephone queries, following up sales calls and ensuring that order management is timely and accurate.

Job Description – Sales Assistant

This is a key role within 2NDHND. Based in Ayrshire and working closely as part of a small team in the company’s Dundonald facility the Sales Assistant will be responsible for the day to day operations of the sales function within the business.

  • Manage and sales opportunities arising through website messenger, inbound calls and outbound calls.
  • Be able to understand customer needs and to be able to position the 2NDHND product and service offering to meet these needs.
  • Be able to manage the transfer of the customer to the company’s other teams such as MD or operations to ensure excellent customer experience.
  • Making sales to customers, understanding customer requirements, utilising company tools to produce costings and quotations, negotiating and closing sales to meet sales targets.
  • Manage the company’s internal systems ensuring sales opportunities and order information is up to date and accurate. 

 Required Skills/Capabilities

  • Ideally with proven inside/tele sales or customer service experience.
  • Experience of the office interiors market would be ideal.
  • Excellent telephone presence with ability to manage calls and workload to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Experience working with web based IT platforms in support of role.
  • Highly proficient at positioning products and services both verbally and through the web.
  • Excellent verbal presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi tack, prioritize and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to quickly learn the systems, products and services of 2NDHND and to develop strong product knowledge. 

Qualifications

  • Higher education diploma in administration, marketing or business.
